Jim Luke

Jim Luke has over 30 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, holding key positions in management, operations, engineering and marketing. In 2005, Jim founded Rubicon Offshore International and as chief executive of the business, grew it to be the world’s 6th largest FPSO contractor owning and operating four FPSOs, two tankers and a state-of-the-art dynamically-positioned subsea installation and intervention vessel.
He worked for 12 years with Oceaneering, initially in Houston, then as Director of Field Development based in Singapore and Managing Director of Oceaneering in Perth, Australia. During this period, Oceaneering contracted for the provision and operation the largest jackup-based mobile offshore production unit in the eastern hemisphere for Woodside in Australia.
Prior to this, Jim worked for 13 years with Sedco Forex – Schlumberger in nine countries holding positions initially as a subsea engineer assigned to North Sea-based projects and progressively more responsible technical, operational and management positions focusing on drilling and workover business in locations including Paris, Nigeria, South Africa, Spain, Gabon, India, Norway, Scotland. Jim was granted a US patent for a deep-water semisubmersible drilling unit capable of conducting two simultaneous drilling operations. He holds a BS degree in Engineering (mechanical) from Texas Tech University.
