John B. Elmer

He has held Chief Marketing Officer positions at S2S Systems, a reservoir modeling software and services firm, and Ingrain, the first commercial digital rock physics lab to serve the global oil and gas industry.
John joined Gelb Consulting in 1984. He is a recognized expert in marketing strategy and new product development and has deep experience in the oilfield service industry. In 1999, John acquired Gelb Consulting Group from its founder, Gabriel M. Gelb, who started the firm in 1965. John has received professional certification as a management consultant (CMC) and in new product development (NPDP). John earned his M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Houston in 1984, and received a B.A. with honors in psychology from the University of Texas in 1980. John was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Houston College of Business Administration from 1989 to 1993.
