Betsy Gelb PhD

Betsy Gelb, Ph.D., is the author or co-author of more than 100 published academic journal articles in marketing and advertising, two books, and one monograph. She has taught for 44 years at all levels in the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Twice selected as the Bauer College’s outstanding faculty member, she is the Marvin Hurley Professor of Marketing & Entrepreneurship at the college and is one of its leading scholars. She has taught at the graduate level courses in marketing research, advertising, marketing strategy, and marketing principles. She has written more than 20 expert reports for attorneys. In three cases, these reports were based on academic research she had conducted previously, and in other cases she directed research specifically for the client. She has also worked extensively with Gabe Gelb on more than 50 cases in which he served as an expert on intellectual property issues.
