. Mrs. Hazelwood is a marine conservation biologist and offshore energy consultant specializing in ecological value and environmental impact assessments, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) survey work, and designing sustainable environmental strategies for offshore energy development and decommissioning. She has over nine years of experience preparing and conducting both international and domestic environmental impact assessments for both terrestrial and marine offshore resources. She has worked in the northeastern United States, the Gulf of Mexico, and California, as well as on international projects in Thailand and Mauritania. Emily’s key areas of expertise are in offshore energy infrastructure development and decommissioning and Rigs to Reef program development, she specializes in ecological evaluations of offshore resources, environmental risk assessments, construction and monitoring projects, permitting, and biodiversity baseline management studies. Emily also has a strong background in public education, communication, and outreach initiatives critical to relating complex scientific concepts to a variety of audiences.
